Things that have changed since the last update:

Installed and configured a docker Arr stack for media requests, optimized memory usage on the new server and also got a GPU installed for hardware transcoding in Plex, which has also been changed over to a new LXC container instead of a full VM. Been learning a lot about those LXC containers and they have been very useful with mitigating some of the issues with running out of memory we were having initially. Yes, we were running out of memory on the server with 128gb of ram installed. What the f. 

Lots of car issues, one of our cars isnt doin so hot, so i've been shopping for a new one off and on, although i'm thinking we are going to have to pull the trigger on the new one fairly soon. if not now then at the end of the summer. I'm selling my current car to the kids and buying something i want, hopefully, if i can find something that is like 15 years old, has real buttons, and a real actual manual transmission. 

My streaming schedule has not improved, even though i do keep trying, sort of. There a lot that needs done around here and just not as much time is available for streaming things like i used to. I miss it, it was so much fun and the people that played/watched with me were always a jam. now i'm relegated to maybe a record jam every week, and sometimes a chill wake and bake stream on sundays. and even then most of the time i have to skip those for various reasons. I'd love it if my life could like, settle down a little, but then i'd probably complain about being bored. 

Since about christmas time we've been playing a lot of project zomoid, and i wish i would have started playing that again sooner so i could have maybe included one of th streamers i used to watch all the time, he always wanted to play and i never did on saturdays because it's a really involved game and wouldnt have done well on those nights, but opening up and playing a server off stream would have been fine and i wish i would have put that time in then to do it, because we do have a blast with it now. Well not right now as we've been recently distracted with minecraft, but we are going to go back to it. 

 Pretty sure a running blog each day will help me keep things together. We've got a bunch of shit to fix and things to pay for, so lots of things in the air to try and keep straight. 

Need to get a new keyboard, this one is starting to die, the "e" key is starting to not always hit when i press it. Sometimes cleaning it seems to help for like a day, then it goes right back to being as bad as it was. 

 Just fix and issue with my network on the R730. Apparently proxmox sees the SFP ports as eno# ports, so they got mixed into the regular ethernet ports and nothing was working right. Now i've just got it set to use only the 10gbe connection, with a 1gbe ethernet set up as a backup connecting, that nothign is using, just me to give it an address. I think that'll work. Theres more than enough bandwidth on that 10gbe connection for all the VMs and services. Easy. That'll lave one of the SFP ports open for my fibre firewall thats coming later this week. 

Think i've finally got all the delays set right so when my big server reboots and it starts all the VMs it starts them in the right order. Didnt have to restart any of my containers after a reboot this afternoon, go us.  Proxmox is a bitch, but works great once you get it figured out. 

 More to come over the next few days while i sort myself out again. Maybe i'll even start streaming somewhat normally hopfully soon. We'll have to see.
