We cleaned up the office/streaming area today. I've had piles of 12" records from game nights floating around for weeks because I've just not wanted to spend the time to  put them away. Also there was the issue of the lack of space to put away the 7" singles, as I'd filled the two collapsible crates I'd found almost to the brink.

Solved the first one by convincing Mrs Potato that I needed someone around to make sure I didnt get distracted by messing with non-cleaning related things while I put things away. Also mostly I just needed someone around to talk to while i worked on getting things back in order. We re-arranged a little down there too and it opened the space up quite a bit. Really nice how that can make a room feel better.

The second problem was solved with an amazon box that I found that fit exactly the width i needed, so the 45's got shifted a little and all the loose ones put away. That was satisfying. I'm glad that the most recently played ones get piled up and not put right back the same week, but I do need to have some kind of system to put things away once a week from the jams weeks previous so we both dont play the same thing too often and also dont let the piles get so large it takes hours to put them all away. 30 minutes on average should be the most i'd need to spend. I'll have to get another box/crate/holder thing for the "to process" and the "to process but not yet" piles. That doesnt include the "Just bought these, put them in discogs, clean them, and find their homes" pile.

Mr Gus got his space cleaned up a little. Mrs Potato wants to decorate down there and make it a nice space for him, and I think thats lovely but also fear that she'll put a bunch of work into something and he, being a cat, will just lay somewhere else. I think he may eventually warm up to it but he avoided his pillow for weeks after i washed it, so im not holding my breath.

I'm frustrated that I've done all this cleaning mostly to find my USB-C external capture card and it's been so far elusive. I know for a fact that I picked it up from Kreggus, and put it in my bag, or my car, or my pocket, and then lord only knows what "safe place" i stuck it in. I've torn up the space downstairs an my tech pile in the server room, and the closets, and my bag, and trunk, and everywhere i can think of and it's making me want to scream and pull my hair out.

Game nights have been going really nicely. Just about every week the day beforehand i think "Maybe i should do something different, switch things up a bit." Then end up doing pretty much the same thing every week. I dont know, i like the party, i like the vibe and the people and the whole jam, but i worry it might get stale, or boring. People cycle in and out, and i think thats a good, healthy thing. Anyone thats played and left and then come back is always welcome, not naming names. But i think I focus sometimes too much on including as many people as possible, or worry about it maybe. There are some things i think that we could pull off with a group of four, rotating out members, that we can't do when there's 6-10 of us. I like and want the big groups though, that is so much fun.

The fact that people keep coming back, and keep having fun, is the biggest bonus of the whole thing. I like playing games, and im glad that the only time i really have during the week to focus on playing stuff, I get to have a party with all my friends, every week.  If you had only so much time, is that such a bad way to use it?

I'm rambling, but thats the point of this thing. Make me think things out more, even if they are non-consequential. This is my brain space, it's allowed to be a little unhinged.

I want to make some new video loops on the hi8 camera. We've got a couple loops i could use from graveyards we've visited recently, but i ahve to rip and convert it all.
